Pacific Autism Center

Pacific Autism Center is conveniently located in Honolulu, Hawaii, and has assisted parents and students since 2004. We are Hawaii’s premier autism center specializing in ABA. From increased monitoring and supervision, to extensive curriculum development, Pacific Autism Center provides children and their families the greatest opportunity for success.
Pacific Autism Center is staffed by quality providers who are passionate about providing the highest quality ABA services. All programs and interventions are supervised by a BCBA, which is a person who must have a master’s degree and have completed 225 hrs of graduate level instruction in behavior analysis. Additionally the BCBA must have finished 1500 hrs of Supervised Independent Fieldwork in Behavior Analysis and take and pass a National Board Exam. The BCBA does assessments as the basis for determining what programs and interventions will be specifically designed for the individual child. Moreover, the BCBA refers to empirically based research in making programming decisions that are in alignment with best practices and which are socially significant for the client. Through careful data collection and the analysis of that data, the BCBA makes appropriate changes to the client’s program to control for extraneous variables while allowing the child to progress at his/her optimal rate. Further the BCBA trains the team in accurate execution of programs, interventions and other procedures to ensure accurate, reliable and valid implementation and outcomes.
The mission of Pacific Autism Center is to use ABA and be a foundation for those individuals (and their families) within the autism spectrum, and to also provide access to high quality researched based services that support the individual in all areas of their life. Read more.
An appropriate program has 3 main components: • Duration – commitment to several years of implementing the treatment depending upon the age of the child and severity of the disability. • Intensity – 20 to 40 hours a week of ABA services. • Quality – provided by well trained, well supervised, and well managed staff that understand the ABA principles and the correct implementation of the programs.
