Pacific Autism Center News
Autism in the NEWS
As most of you recognize, Autism has been in the news a lot lately. This is because Autism is affecting such a vast number of families. April is now Autism Awareness Month, and on the 2nd of April, 2008, CNN spent an entire day discussing autism. When was the last time CNN devoted a full day to anything except politics? Autism is finally getting the attention it deserves. It is important that we all do our part in keeping that momentum up, even if it is talking to our friends and neighbors. Until we see the numbers decrease, and every affected child able to receive appropriate services, we should never give up in waging a war against this mysterious disorder.
Renovating PAC!
Pacific Autism Center has made many new improvements around the center. We now have our new signage in place, a newly furnished entrance and foyer, new flooring in the preschool and classrooms, new paint, and improved lunch areas. We’ve increased the number of monitors, cameras and microphones, and had a grand opening of a new sensory room. Pacific Autism Center has really made efforts to make each child’s experience at the center even more fun and reinforcing! Here are some pictures of the improvements and what you will find at our center. To take a tour, call the front office at 808-523-8188 to schedule a time.
Tokyo, Japan
Pacific Autism Center has a sister company, Pacific Learning Center in Tokyo, Japan, that provides services to children and their families there. We are very excited about helping families help their children. We decided to open up a center in Tokyo because of the demand of parents wanting services for their children there.
When we asked a parent in Tokyo to send us a statement about what she thinks about our services she shared this, “I would like to express my gratitude to Laura Cook and her team of therapists, especially to her Supervisors. We are so pleased with the results to date that we have achieved with our son, which in large part is due to the advice, direction, and training provided by PLC. Laura being a mother of an autistic son who she has recovered, I immediately trusted her and I was right. She inspired me and gave me the hope that I needed to start a long journey toward my son’s own recovery.”
Any parent who is in or near Tokyo and wishes to work with us or wants to connect with some of our other parents can give us a call at our Honolulu office. The number is 808-523-8188.
