Intensive ABA Services
Intensive services are where a therapist works one on one with a child for a significant amount of time and implements an ABA program which includes on-going supervision, data collection and programming. The child is engaged with the therapist and with the exception of when they have earned a break, the child is consistently working with the therapist.
Services are delivered in our center, in the home and also in the community. We do have packages where we implement services within the child’s home school. Each of these packages allows our therapists to go to the school early and collaborate with the school in implementing the services.
Our programs show significant growth when we have had an opportunity to work with a child for an extended period of time. Each child will move forward at different rates and since time is of the essence when working with young children with autism, we try to follow the research as closely as we can to maximize a child’s potential. This is why we offer programs that are 36, 42, and even 46 hours per week. Sometimes it takes an extra push to be sure a child is learning from their environment and every opportunity is capitalized upon and reinforced.
Each child starts out with a series of assessments and the completion of our own evaluation that assists us in developing their program. Our approach is to be flexible, where we analyze the child based on all the current assessments to establish a baseline, and then create their programs to begin at the child’s level in those areas of development. There are other methodologies that have a set standard of programs they always start with, and a set system. Instead of a child coming into our program and putting them in a slot and making them fit, as a school setting would need to do, PAC acts more like Play-dough, molding around the child and adapting to their specific needs. Every child’s program is set up differently, and no two programs are alike.
